Liu is a Chinese-American Actress, Singer, and Model also known by her English name Crystal Liu. She is widely known in media outlets as “Pixie Sister.”

In 2009, she was called to be one of China’s Latest Four Dan Actresses. She will be taking the lead as Mulan in Mulan’s cutting-edge change at Disney.

Liu was conceived at Wuhan, Hubei Tongji Hospital, and her original name was “A Feng.” She is a single child. Her father is A Shaokang, the first Chinese Embassy Secretary in France and a French-language college instructor, while her mother is Liu Xiaoli, an artist and stage performer. Liu beat nearly 1,000 other contestants to win her current job, including Taiwanese actress Hu Ting-ting, who was considered Mulan-like.

Earlier this year there were reports that other actresses would be selected, including Jelly Lin Yun, who starred in Stephen Chow Sing-chi ‘s hit The Mermaid (2016), and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who starred in the American-Chinese martial arts film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (2016).

The casting directors went on a year-long hunt to find the leading actress, searching for someone who could meet three criteria: English-language abilities, martial arts expertise, and maybe the most enigmatic – star consistency. Liu has suited the bill. She speaks fluent English and moved to the United States with her parents at the age of 10. She had been living in Queens in New York City for several years before moving to China to attend the Beijing Film Academy.
